Without a doubt, this past year has been a difficult one for all. The added stressors and upheaval to our day-to-day life due to the pandemic, social environment, and political climate introduce unique challenges for each and every one of us. It has tested our collective perseverance and, more than ever, we are leaning on each other for support. For Alice, the unwavering support she continues to receive by you all is making the biggest difference toward helping her overcome her evolving challenges.
Despite all that’s going on, there have been several bright spots for Alice over the past year:
Alice started Pre-K in a mainstream classroom! And she’s thrilled to be virtually learning with her teachers and friends.
Alice has transitioned very well toward remote therapies. And she has even started a new exciting physical therapy that’s helping her gain more strength.
And with the arrival of Benji, her new brother, she gained the title of best big sister!
As always, we are overwhelmingly appreciative of the support that we have received from each of you. Every little bit has enabled the Rett Syndrome Research Trust (RSRT) to deliver to their mission of finding a cure. Through their pipeline of ground-breaking therapeutic approaches, we are hopeful that Alice will be able to have life-changing treatment within a few years. This wouldn’t be possible without you all.
Given the world’s challenges, we debated whether it was appropriate to kick off a fundraising campaign this year. Ultimately, we did in order to not limit those that can and want to give toward the path toward a cure for Alice. We fully understand that it may not be the right time for all and are more than grateful for the daily support Alice receives.
