Esther is our beautiful 7-year-old daughter who has Rett syndrome, a rare genetic condition that doesn’t allow her smart brain to communicate like it should with the rest of her body. This is caused by a mutation on the MECP2 gene, which affects everything from breathing to communication to gross motor skills.

However, there is real hope for a CURE! Please join us in raising awareness and support for the Rett Syndrome Research Trust (RSRT) that directly funds research for curing Rett syndrome. RSRT has made remarkable progress with genetic-based approaches such as gene therapy, which targets Rett syndrome at its core cause. In fact, multiple clinical trials in gene therapy are now underway, thanks to discoveries made by RSRT-funded researchers. Through your support, we can eradicate many obstacles for Esther and even cure Rett syndrome for all!

Throughout the month of May, we will be crowdfunding support and our goal is ambitious: we hope to raise up to $15,000! So please consider donating and/or sharing our campaign to achieve this goal!

At the end of our campaign, we will host a meetup event for all donors and families affected by Rett syndrome on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 12-3 p.m, at 417 Fairdale Drive, Simpsonville, SC 29681. More details about this event will follow. Please reach out to Heather Detzner at 260-458-1208 if you have any questions.
