Soy Eider, tengo 18 meses y me han diagnosticado SINDROME DE RETT.
Soy feliz porque puedo usar perfectamente mis manos para jugar, comer…sin que nadie me ayude. Y aunque no camino ni me pongo en pie, me desplazo culeando por donde quiero. Las únicas palabras que digo son PAPA y MAMA.
Necesito una cura con terapia génica para que esta enfermedad no me quite las habilidades que he adquirido y pueda aprender más.
Yo y las más de 300.000 niñas en todo el mundo necesitamos hacer visibilidad de este trastorno neurológico y recaudar fondos para que la investigación que se está llevando a cabo en Rett Syndrome Research Trust pueda avanzar lo más rápido posible y llevar a cabo los ensayos clínicos que hay en marcha y una futura cura para que podamos disfrutar de la vida como cualquier otro niño. Mi enfermedad no es degenerativa y puede revertirse pero necesitamos que sea lo más pronto posible. El tiempo pasa y me gustaría poder jugar con mi hermano de 3 años que me quiere mucho y poder expresar todo el amor que tengo a mis seres queridos y a todos vosotros.

My name is Eider and I am 18 months old.
I have RETT SYNDROME and for now, I can use my hands very well, I eat and play for myself without any help. I cannot walk, stand up or talk…the only words I can say are MUM and DAD. Rett Syndrome will take these skills away from me, unless a cure is found. Help me so I can play with my three-year-old brother and have a chance at enjoying life as other children do. The research is very promising, and every contribution goes to a non-profit organization called the Rett Syndrome Research Trust and helps speed us towards a cure. RSRT is carrying out six priority research approaches that aim for a cure. These include gene replacement, and the first clinical trial is starting this year. Support is needed to carry out all this research and get us to a cure. Your support helps me and 350,000 others who have Rett Syndrome.
